Yeah, I liked a lot about this episode. JUMPING THROUGH THE WINDOW TOGETHER! I liked that they lost the knife- that was getting used as a bit of a deus ex machina at this point. I LOVED Dean meeting up with a demon he knew in Hell, the way he STOPPED SNARKING BACK AND JUST GOT SCARED.
I liked Anna, though I thought Jared's delivery was kind of off telling her that her parents were dead. Was he fighting back a smile or what? I'm really not one to criticize their acting at all- I normally totally buy all their delivery- but that felt off to me.
SO YEAH SAM/RUBY. I LOVED IT, AND I KNOW THAT IS WRONG, BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS- please don't judge me- VERY WELL-WRITTEN. FOR A SHOW I ACKNOWLEDGE IS NOT REALLY EMMY MATERIAL. I LOVED RUBY APPROACHING HIM LIKE DEAN- I THOUGHT THAT COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE BLATANT- and I LOVED THAT SHE TEMPTED HIM INTO IT BY SAYING IT WAS DIRTY/BAD/WRONG BECAUSE YEAH I SEE HOW SAM MIGHT BE MISSING DIRTYBADWRONG. And then she made it explicitly about creepy comfort- THIS BODY IS SO WARM- and I LOVED THAT SHE CALLED IT "THIS BODY" AND DIDN'T LET HIM PRETEND SHE WAS A REGULAR GIRL. I LOVE SLIPPERY SLOPE SAM. I WANT HIM EDGING TOWARDS EVIL AT ALL TIMES.
And I TOTALLY CALLED THAT SAM TRIED TO SELL HIS SOUL AND THEY WOULDN'T TAKE HIM :DDDDD (A Race Around the Earth). I actually felt this season really needed this episode- Sam was so put-together in the pilot, which I hated and didn't understand, and I'm really glad we got to see him break down INTO A MILLION SAD PIECES OF BROKEN SADNESS. With his BOOZE and STUMBLING EVERYWHERE and AWFUL, HORRIBLE COMFORT SEX.
I like that they made Dean finally accept Ruby- his blind hatred of her has been feeling kind of OOC since last season. And I really think(/hope) that she's not this goody-goody she's been playing. I hope they made Dean accept her so that HER BETRAYAL WILL BE EXTRA SWEET WHEN SHE TEMPTS SAM INTO EVIL. But I think they will probably just have her sacrifice herself in a beautiful act of martyrdom. I miss Bela and the way she clearly had an agenda beyond the Winchesters, actually.
CASTIEL AND HIS :| FACE. I LOVE HIM AND I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY.
Oh, and I didn't see the preview for next week and am not spoiled for it at all, so no hints!

I don't LOVE Sam/Ruby, but I'll roll with it since there's no other option. I think the writer's made the best of the crap situation they put themselves in W/R/T consent, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. I almost wish they had made it worse somehow? Like, yeah, it's a demon in a dead body, but you really don't get any sense of that since it's MOVING and TALKING and RUBYLICIOUS. I don't know where I'm going with this, I guess I am just once again bitching and wishing the show was on HBO like I tend to do. :/
I'm tempted (LOLOL) to say that they WILL have her betray Sam in the end. I heard on 4CHAN (INO) that she COULD be Lilith in disguise, which I think would be totally awesome and make the whole temptation of S. Winchester even moar interesting. But I think they're saving the beautiful acts of martyrdom for a certain :|-facing angel. IDK IDK IDEK.
BECAUSE HILARIOUS THAT'S WHY. God where is my Castiel icon I need one since I make fun of the poor guy so much. :D:

Who knows what they're doing with Ruby. But you're TOTALLY RIGHT, CASTIEL IS GONNA BE THE ONE TO GET TO MARTYR HIMSELF. I bet he looks like :| while he does it. BECAUSE IT IS HIS ONLY FACE. ILHIM.
