Here via crackenterprise - I loved this fic THIIIIIIIIIIIIS MUUUUUUUUUUUCH. A lot, is what I'm saying here.

I think the best thing about this was the two times when Uhura just snaps and says awful things to Kirk - you don't dwell on it or stretch the confrontation out or wallow in the angst, you just hit a couple really important character notes (Kirk's self-esteem issues, Uhura's eloquence turned to a cruel end) and let those speak for themselves.
